Exterior Design

The new shell of the 2021 BMW 5 Series takes cues from its predecessors without being derivative. Sure, the kidney grilles remain, but the dual halo headlights are replaced with a pair of L-shaped LED elements that give the new 5 Series a more aggressive face. The character line now splits just behind the front wheel, with one line fading into the windows and the other stretching back to the taillights. Overall, the new look is subtle yet distinct, and you'll surely catch some second glances as you cruise through town.

Interior Design

The inside of the new BMW 5 Series takes a similar approach, using similar lines and angles from prior models, but refining the formula to create a new overall experience. The driver-centric design now angles the center stack toward you for easier viewing and access, and the existence of real buttons give you the tactile feedback needed to make changes to HVAC settings without looking away from the road.

The party piece of the new 2021 BMW 5 Series has always been its impeccable blend of luxury and incredible performance, and that hasn't changed. Base models come with a turbocharged engine generating 248 horsepower and 257 pound-feet of torque, while top-spec 5 Series sedans will leave a you-shaped print in the leather seat thanks to a 523-horsepower engine that takes you from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

With the new Digital Key standard on the 2021 BMW 5 Series, you can now use your phone to unlock, start, and drive your new BMW sedan. Even better, you can share the key with friends should they need to borrow your car for the day, and you can always keep track of your car's location with the BMW Connected app.

Advanced protection features in the new BMW 5 Series include an active lane keeping assistant and the Extended Traffic Jam Assistant, which allows you a hands-off experience when dealing with the misery of stop and go traffic. This allows you to focus on the true hazards ahead of you so you can better plan for what's coming next.
